Types of mental health issues

Most people are not aware about various mental health issues.
sometimes people ignore that they might be suffering from mental health illness as they are not aware about that illness.
It is very important to educate yourself about various mental health issues.

So here is about various issues:
  • Anxiety and panic attacks
At times we all feel anxiety but it is a problem when we feel it most of the times. untreated anxiety disorders can have serious effects on a person's health and life. 
symptoms of panic attack may include:
  1. shortness of breath
  2. choking
  3. nausea
  4. rapid heartbeat
  • Bipolar Disorder 
Bipolar disorder is a mood that can cause extreme periods of low(depression) and high(manic) moods. 
symptoms of manic may include:
  1. having racing thoughts 
  2. feeling euphoric
  3. easily distracted
symptoms of depression may include:
  1. feeling down and hopeless
  2. tired and sluggish feelings
  3. inability to enjoy things
  4. low self esteem
  5. difficulty concentrating
  6. sleeping too much/ difficulty sleeping
bipolar disorder can have extreme effects and its better to consult a psychiatrist.
  • obsessive-compulsive disorder (OCD)
In this a person experiences obsessive thoughts and compulsive behaviours.
A person have unwanted thoughts and unreasonable fears
It includes:
fear of germs or the need to arrange objects in a specific order.

symptoms usually begin gradually and vary throughout life.
This is chronic and treatment an only help but not cure it.


  • Psychosis

In this a person percieves the world in a different way to those around them.
This can include how a person will experience, believe or view things.
symptoms may include:

  1. experiencing delusions and hallucinations
  2. it can also lead to disorganised thoughts or speech


  • Schizophernia
It is characterized  by thoughts or experiences that seem out of touch with reality, disorganized speech and decreased participation in daily activities.

Symptoms may include:

  1. hallucinations and delusions
  2. confused thoughts and feelings
  3. extreme lack of interest
  4. withdrawl from friends and family


  • Self -harm
self-harm is not a mental health problem but is linked to mental illness
there is no specific reason why someone may harm themselves as everybody have their own reasons.

  • Paranoia
Paranoia is the irrational and persistent feeling that people are 'out to get you'
paranoia may be a symptom of conditions including paranoid personality disorder, delusional disorder and schizophernia.

  • Post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD)

PTSD is a mental health condition that can develop as a response to people who have experienced any traumatic event.
symptoms may include:

  1. nightmares
  2. severe anxiety
  3. flashbacks
  4. uncontrollable thoughts about the event


  • seasonal affective disorders (SAD)

SAD is a type of depression that is related to changes in seasons. It begins and ends at about the same times every year.
symptoms may include:

  1. insomnia/ excessive sleeping
  2. weight gain/loss
  3. lack of interest
  4. fatigue
  5. social isolation
I may have not covered all issues/disorders and I know that there are many issues. I just hope you are doing good and incase you may feel like you might be suffering from any disorder then you must visit a psychiatrist as soon as possible because delaying will only worsen your situation.
It is very important to educate yourself and others around you about these problems.
